HERS rating, or the home energy rating, has become the national standard for evaluating the relative energy efficiency and consumption in residential dwelling units both in the single-family and multifamily setting. The HERS index is recognized by many green building programs as well as federal, state, and local jurisdictions as the go-to metric for meeting sustainability goals, code compliance, project funding, and comparative analysis.
